I honestly hate to say that ‘I Live for the weekend’ but this week I certainly did… a long week of work and humidity! This heat takes a lot of getting used to but it does beat being wrapped up in layers of clothes during the snow in the winter.
With there being so much to always do in the city, it’s also nice to get out of the noisy streets and go to the beach (even if the nearest beach is around an hour away) I try to go one day at the weekend if the weathers nice. My favourite beaches that I’ve been to are Rockaway beach and Coney Island, both are pretty easy to get there… just take the A/C train to Rockaway or the bus and the N/Q/F train to Coney Island to the last stop.
It’s a long way from any southern Irish beaches that I would usually be used to at home;)
I know I can’t believe I was wearing all black (bodysuit & shorts from Topshop) in the heat either, I guess I’ll never learn!

Two months here & I cannot believe how fast the time is going!! I am loving NYC… it is certainly a city that will test you in every way possible, with all the ups and downs and breakdowns on the subway:( (and I was never one to cry in public!) It is hard, I will admit that… there never is a day that I don’t miss my best friends at home, it certainly doesn’t get any easier… but at the same time I got to experience my very First NewYorkFashionWeek and I would never of got the chance to do that if I didn’t come here!*
I guess I can’t have it all…
Today, before I filled up on the tastiest cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery, with my friend (who is visiting from Ireland, it’s the longest time we’ve gone not seeing each other) I took a snap in front of the ‘Where’s Wally’ wall painting in Manhattan.
You would have seen every piece of what I’m wearing on the blog before. (when I was last in Central Park) I have some different pieces that I love to wear together or mix & match as an outfit, so I may capture it more than once because of all the amazing backdrops in this city (I’m never one to just wear an outfit once) and that’s one of the best things about being in New York is getting to capture the amazing sights and scenes from around the city and also to show you what I get to see and experience in this city, as well as what I wear:)
Hope your all having a great weekend,

Since arriving in New York, I have certainly seen a lot of changes in the weather! It was a chilly start to February and I finally gave in a bought a pair of winter boots… okay so they are not exactly the proper snow boots but they are waterproof and that will have to do because I just couldn’t give in to some of those ‘ugly’ snow boots so if the snow comes round again I’ll be layering back on the socks!Haha
So finally, this last weekend, the weather was nice and warm and it was the first day in a long time that it wasn’t freezing so I took advantage of the higher temperatures and went to explore Dumbo (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass) … I could actually get out without my big winter coat on, which is always great seeing as I sometimes felt like it was all I was wearing at one stage!
At the weekend, I always love to venture out of the busy city, so I mostly end up along the High Line or Central Park and Dumbo will for sure, be added to that list. It reminds me of a cute seaside town, it’s so nice to walk around without hearing noisy car horns, alarms or not so nice smells and instead smelling fresh sea air, stone-oven cooked pizzas(there was some waiting in line, involved) and of course ending the day with yummy chocolate crepes.
I wore; my blue blazer from H&M, my favourite Coated Jamie Jeans from Topshop and also my chocker, which I think is one of my favourite (easy to diy) accessories. I love being able to change up outfits with just some different accessories… my new New boots are from Steve Madden …I’ve just noticed (unlucky for me!) that they’ve gone into sale… So happy shopping;)
Hope your having a great week so far!
